Spiritual and Physical Endurance

Our life change story features Tara Smith from Trinity Fitness Southside.

I started coming to Trinity Fitness almost three years ago. I was introduced to Trinity Fitness by one of my runner friends and what eventually drew me in (a little reluctantly, I admit) was that I needed some sort of cross-training for my running. Spiritually, I was in an “ok” place and I thought it would be a nice bonus to maybe get some spiritual support as well.

Trinity Fitness has helped me in ways that I never even imagined. I’ve been surrounded by people who have encouraged me to be my best physically and who have also challenged me to be my best spiritually. It’s helped me to become stronger than I thought would’ve been physically possible and to have a closer walk with God that I frankly didn’t realize I really needed. It’s helping me to be the example I desire to be for my daughter and to be the type of wife I strive to be for my husband.

Almost three years have passed since starting my journey with Trinity Fitness and my life has changed though it may not seem like a drastic change on the outside. Physically, the battles that we train through have made an impact on my endurance for running which is exciting, but I also have a chronic health condition and recent blood work shows that the physical training and nutrition changes I’ve learned and made at Trinity Fitness have been making an impact on my condition as well! Spiritually, I have a heartfelt desire to dive into God’s word, to learn, and to seek God’s will that I didn’t have before. For the most part, I grew up “in the church” and there were certainly people who made an impact on my life, but nothing has driven me to dig into God’s word like Trinity Fitness has. I’m excited to share those truths with others and I love to share what I’ve learned and to hear what others are getting out of His word as well.

I’ve also been a trainer at Trinity Fitness Southside for a little over a year now and have been given the humbling opportunity to pour into our warriors just as it was done for me. I knew that when I took those next steps in my Trinity Fitness journey, that God would use me in a way I wasn’t sure I was ready for and without a doubt this introvert has been stretched and challenged and is continuing to grow! I know that I still have a lot to learn, but I’m looking forward to what God has in store for me and my family with Trinity Fitness.
